Here’s hoping you had a great Thanksgiving! As we head into December we have some updates.
Our next Sunday Night Wine Dinner is just around the corner on Sunday, December 10th at 5pm. The dinner will feature 7 courses paired with 7 estate wines from Fallbrook Winery. The produce will be sourced through Save Good Food, with much of it being grown in Fallbrook and Vista. With both the wine and produce coming from within 50 miles, this is yet another true farm to table dinner! The price is $100 which INCLUDES tax and tip. Reservations are required, call the restaurant to secure your reservation, as of now there are just a few seats left!
Next Wednesday, December 6th will be the next of our monthly “Rainbow Happy Hours”, an event especially for our LGBTQ neighbors, friends & family, but of course all Garden Kitchen supporters are welcome! For these events, our Happy Hour specials are extended until 6pm, so come down and meet your neighbors and enjoy a glass of local wine!
With the gift season upon us, we have some great ideas for you. As always, we offer gift certificates in any denomination. We have gift baskets of various sizes which contain house made goodies as well as other local artisan treats. If you’re looking for a la carte gifts, we have house made toffee available, our current flavor is English pecan chocolate. Our wonderful server Holly has her own hand made jewelry line, including earrings, necklaces and bracelets, which make great gifts. Some of her creations are on display at the restaurant, or you can take a look on her Facebook page.
If you’re already thinking about New Year’s, we are planning another wonderful event this year. We’ll start the evening at 5pm so you’ll have time to make it to your final destination at midnight. If you didn’t make it last year, it was quite the event, even with the torrential rain we had an amazing 6 course wine pairing dinner and everyone stayed dry under our wrapped patio cover and roasty toasty with all heaters on! This is a reservation only event, $125 including tax, tip & wine pairings. Sign up by calling the restaurant.
After New Year’s we are closing for our annual winter break, re-opening on Wednesday January 10th. This break is a chance for us and our staff to decompress and have some time off after a busy holiday season.
Lastly, in case you haven’t heard, we are expanding! Our location will remain the same, but our patio will be extended next door and we will add some indoor options. These additions are still a few months out, but by next spring expect to see some exciting changes including an expanded wine & beer menu! Rest assured, our normal business hours will not be affected. In addition to slogging through our expansion paperwork, we’re also in the process gathering inspiration for some indoor lounge decor, so if you have anything to contribute let us know! Anything from fun artwork to funky furniture to interesting ideas, just let us know!
