We hope you enjoyed your Labor Day Weekend. Many of you know that we were closed last week for our annual summer break, and now after some rest and relaxation we are back at it! Starting Tuesday, September 5th we are open normal business hours- 3pm-5pm for happy hour and 5pm-9pm for dinner service. As a husband and wife run business, this week off is important for us and our staff, so thank you for understanding.
Looking ahead, we have a few events for you:
On Sunday September 10th Coral will be doing a CSA cooking class at Dickinson Farm showing you how to make the most of your CSA boxes! This event requires reservations and there are currently only two spots left, if you’re interested sign up here.
Starting on Saturday September 9th is Farm to Fork Week. While Farm to Fork itself is a larger movement, the twice yearly Farm to Fork Week here in San Diego is a chance to support other local chefs and restaurants that have made a commitment to support local farms and purveyors. It’s also a perfect time to try new restaurants at affordable prices. We will be offering a 3 course, $40 prix fixe option in addition to our a la carte menu.
To close out Farm to Week we will be hosting a Sunday Night Wine Dinner on September 17th, this one featuring wine from Chuparosa Vineyards in Ramona and produce from Agua Dulce Farm in Chula Vista. With the wine coming from just 20 miles away and the produce coming from even closer, this is a true local farm to table dinner! There will be 7 courses with 7 wine pairings for $125 including tax and tip. Call the restaurant 619-431-5755 to secure your reservation.
During the month of October we will be offering pink desserts such as cupcakes and truffles in support of breast cancer awareness month, with a portion of proceeds being donated to the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk with the American Cancer Society.
Thank you again for your continued support and see you soon for your next Garden Kitchen meal.
