2020 is off to a great start! We have a ton of fun news to fill you in on, and also a few things to look forward to.
First off, did you see the great article that San Diego food writer Troy Johnson wrote about Garden Kitchen in San Diego Magazine? Please take a few minutes and read it, he really captures the essence of Garden Kitchen and we are so proud to have made it to a place where people are taking notice of what we do.
Ok, now that you’re back…
This month marks one full year that our Wine Lounge has been open! For the whole month we are adding a great dessert to our menu. Look for a “Vin de Paille” Grenache Blanc from Stehleon Vineyards, served in our new dessert wine glasses and paired with local chocolatier The Chocolate Lush custom made white chocolate truffles, deluxe blue cheese, parmesan herb shortbread, candied nuts & fruit!
On Thursday February 6th, we have a special guest, Neva, from our local neighborhood Girl Scout troop selling cookies! In addition, we are offering Girl Scout Cookie and wine pairings! Stop by and help support our favorite Girl Scout by buying a box of cookies.
With February marking our One Year Wine Lounge Anniversary, we’re launching a new monthly Winemaker Wednesday event. On February 12th Sitara Monica Perez will be here from Valle Girl Vino in Valle de Guadalupe so you can chat with her and try a selection of her fabulous wines for $15! There will be special discounts on Valle Girl Vino glasses of wine and bottles TO-GO. Join us in Lounge 4-8pm. Reservations are preferred, 619-431-5755.
It’s almost Valentine’s Day! We’re FULLY BOOKED for February 14th, but by popular demand we’ve spread the love to three days and will be running our special Valentine’s menu starting Thursday 2/13 through Saturday 2/15. If you plan to join us Thursday or Saturday we recommend you make your reservations now!
If you have been a Garden Kitchen follower for a while, you may remember our Sunday Brunches. Well, they’re back! Sunday February 16th will be our first of the year. You have requested and we listened. Reservations available NOW and are highly recommended. We’ll be open for brunch 9am-2pm, and if you miss it our next one will be sometime in April, so snooze, you lose!
Looking towards March, we have set Sunday, March 15th for a 7 course Seafood Wine Pairing Dinner with San Diego’s famous Fishmonger Tommy Gomes, who will be joined by owners Darius and Lisa from Koi Zen Cellars in Carmel Mountain Ranch for the wine pairings. Dinner will start at 4pm with wine & the first two courses in the Wine Lounge, followed by five beautiful courses on our patio. Daylight Savings begins the week prior, so this should make for a lovely Spring evening to enjoy the best of San Diego — local seafood and local wine! This is a reservation only event.
Thank you for your patronage, we are nearly five years strong being a True Farm to Table, from scratch restaurant.
