Thank you to everyone for the continued support of our recently opened indoor wine lounge. Hours for the lounge are currently Thursday – Saturday 5pm – 9pm. We feature over 30 wines by the glass and a special lounge small bites menu. We’ve mentioned in the past that a neighbor protested our expanded beer & wine license. The hearing date is finally upon us and is next Tuesday, July 16th, so cross your fingers that the outcome will be positive and that we’ll receive our permanent license.
Along with the addition of our new wine lounge, we’ll soon be starting a wine club! We’re still ironing out the final details, however we know we will offer a choice of 3 or 6 bottle pack per month with a fun monthly pickup party where you can taste the wines, enjoy complimentary small bites, and talk wine with Megan, our new wine-tender. In case you have not met, Megan is not only our newest employee, but has also been an established sommelier for over a decade, so she can answer all your wine questions! The wine club selections will vary month to month and will be including new releases to our wine menu that you will be first to try. You can expect local bottles from San Diego and Baja as well as wines from around the world, and varying red, rosé, sparkling and white. Reminder, all bottles on our wine list are always available for purchase to go for 15% off. All this week we’re celebrating San Diego Pride, with Pride themed menu items as well as our annual fundraiser dessert, this year we feature a zucchini cupcake with buttercream frosting for a $6 minimum donation. We donate time & ingredients for this so that 100% of proceeds can go to the LGBT Community Center in Hillcrest. Last year we raised over $600, let’s beat it this year!
We’re planning a beer event! We’ve asked our friend and favorite brewmaster, Matt Akin from Benchmark Brewing, to host a fancy bottle share with us at the restaurant. Coral & Russ have collected craft beers domestically and world wide for over 10 years and are ready to share their stash. This will be a Sunday afternoon event, date still to be determined. The next Farm To Fork Week will be September 9th – 15th. While we always center our menu around the beautiful local produce available here in San Diego, during F2F week we offer prix fixe menu options which are a great way to try several items during one visit. We also encourage you to try other local businesses who’ve committed to sourcing locally.
