As we head towards our 2nd year anniversary, Garden Kitchen continues to thrive and we’re enjoying every minute of it. Something new that you will start seeing is fresh seafood on Thursdays as well as the standard Fridays & Saturdays. Coral drives to Catalina Offshore each day to pick up the latest, greatest and freshest seafood choices for these weekend menus. Also, March will mark one full year of our Happy Hour, so don’t forget to stop by Tuesday thru Saturday from 3-5pm for $5 wines & sangria, $4 beers & $3 off appetizers!
Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and we’ll be celebrating all weekend. Expect a great Valentine’s menu Friday 2/10, Saturday 2/11, and of course Valentine’s Day, Tuesday February 14th. The menu will have wagyu steak, tomahawk pork, vegan risotto, fresh seafood, as well as vegetarian delights including heart shaped ravioli. Expect strawberry charlotte cake, red velvet cupcakes, and chocolate dipped strawberries! The tables will be set with special linens and we will be very busy, so reservations are highly recommended!
The following weekend we host the year’s first of our special Sunday Night Dinner events. We’ve been planning these for a while and are very excited to finally see them come together. All of our special Sunday Night Dinners are reservation only and the prices you see already include tax and tip. The events are designed to be unforgettable!
On Sunday 2/19 we have a special collaboration dinner with one of San Diego’s original pioneer chefs, Jack Monaco. “Lunch At The Perfect Pan Revisited” will revisit the dining experience made popular in the early 1980’s at The Perfect Pan School of Gourmet Cooking here in San Diego. Before social media and before farm to table and pop up dinners were in vogue, Jack and his coterie of chefs would source from Chino Farms and local butchers for the best local ingredients, and their elegant multi course dinners would sell out months in advance. Jack & Coral will be preparing a special 5 course dinner menu to honor the original spirit of “Lunch at the Perfect Pan”. We’ll also have special guest Piret Munger, the original owner of The Perfect Pan and Piret’s, which was hailed by Julia Child and where James Beard raved about the steak au poivre. Bring your Piret’s Cookbook to have it personally autographed! The price for this event is $100 INCLUDING TAX & TIP, with optional wine pairings available for $25. There will be two seatings, 4pm and 7pm. There are just a few seats left.
Sunday 3/5 is our Valle de Guadalupe Dinner with special Guest Chef Ismene Venegas from the restaurant El Pinar de 3 Mujeres, which is located in Valle de Guadalupe! In addition to 6 courses and 6 wines, this Valle inspired dinner will feature local organic produce from San Diego’s finest farms, herbs from the mountains of Guadalupe, Baja seafood and more! The cost is $125 INCLUDING TAX, TIP & WINE PAIRINGS, there are two seatings available, 4pm and 7pm.
On Sunday 3/26 we have a dinner event that many of you have been looking forward to for a long time, a 5-course, 100% Vegan Dinner! Join us to enjoy this dairy & meat free evening celebrating local organic fruits & vegetables! This will be one seating only, 6pm. Cost is $75, and an additional $25 for wine pairings. Remember tax & tip are included in this price!
Also coming quickly is May, our TWO YEAR ANNIVERSARY! To kick off the celebration we’ll have our first ever BEER Dinner with Benchmark Brewing & special Guest Chef Miguel Valdez, Executive Chef at The Red Door! On Sunday, April 30th, enjoy 6 courses, 6 beers & hours of fun! Meet the brewer & owners Matt & Rachel Akin. This event will sell out, so expect two seatings, 4pm & 7pm. More details to follow!
