Halloween Dinner, Local Spiny Lobsters & Thanksgiving Plans

With Halloween right around the corner we want to remind you that we will be having a Halloween themed menu on both Friday Oct. 29th and Saturday Oct. 30th. We encourage you to put on your best costume and join us for dinner. Our staff will also be dressed, so come enjoy a glass of wine and some food before you head out to your parties!

If you follow us on Facebook you may have seen that we hosted our first wedding reception at Garden Kitchen this past weekend. We had so much fun putting together an incredibly special menu for the wonderful couple and their guests. It was an honor to be part of such a special day. We closed the restaurant to the public so their group was able to enjoy the patio without any interruption, and it worked out beautifully. If you or anyone you know are interested in hosting your own event, whether a special celebration or a Holiday party, please let us know!

Fall is officially upon us, but really all that means here in San Diego is cooler evenings and less daylight. We pulled the heaters and blankets back out, so patio dining is a perfect option for you! With cooler weather unfortunately comes cold and flu season, so we’re also starting our first batches of fire cider that will be ready Tuesday November 8th. If you’re not familiar with fire cider, it is an apple cider vinegar based tonic known for an ability to prevent or lessen cold and flu symptoms. It can be made with a variety of ingredients which are known to have immune boosting, anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-viral and circulation improving properties. Commonly used ingredients are garlic, onion, rosemary, ginger, turmeric and many more.

While you are making your Thanksgiving plans, we want to let you know that we will again be making pies. A homemade pie is a great option whether you are hosting or just need to bring desert for your Turkey get together! The price is $25, for a fresh, organic & from scratch pie. We will offer traditional apple pie with cinnamon crumble and sweet potato with bourbon sticky pecan, add 16 oz of fresh whipped cream for a total of $30. Call the restaurant 619-431-5755 or email gardenkitchensd@gmail.com to pre-order, and they will be ready for pickup on Tuesday November 22nd.

Also, please note that we will have holiday hours Thanksgiving Weekend. We will be closed for the entire Thanksgiving Weekend, Thursday Nov. 24th – Monday Nov. 28th, reopening as normal on Tuesday. We will be OPEN the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and we expect to be busy, so please make reservations if you plan to join us.

Stay tuned for San Diego local spiny lobster on the menu. Rumor has it Coral will put it on the weekend before Thanksgiving and plans on selling it for a steal. This is your once a year opportunity to taste her favorite seafood at an incredibly great price!
