We are now in our 6th week of business and loving it! The weather is finally on our side and our patio is looking great. With a new coat of stain on our redwood fence and our raised bar seating available in the back, we are gearing up for summer!
Over the next few weeks we have some fun events planned. Next Sunday, the 21st, we will be open for Father’s Day Brunch from 9AM – 1PM, we are currently taking reservations and walk ins are welcome. A few teaser items that you’ll see on the menu include duck egg, pork belly, hand-stuffed sausages and cinnamon rolls. The next Brunch will be July 5th.
On Tuesday, June 23rd, we will have live music on the patio for the first time! We welcome Fred Benedetti, our favorite local guitarist, to play from 6:30-8:30 PM. He is dear to our heart as he played at our wedding two years ago, and we have since enjoyed several of his gigs around San Diego. He plays wonderful Spanish guitar and we can’t wait to have him add to the ambiance of our Garden Kitchen patio! To complement the Spanish music we will be have paella, empanadas and a non-alcoholic Sangria. To get a preview of Fred’s music visit his website fredbenedetti.com. We are lucky to have him join us as he will be leaving soon to tour Europe.
Sunday, July 12th, we will be having customer and friend Rob Rubalcaba, an accomplished Sushi Chef, join us for a Sushi Night as our first Guest Chef. His sushi is colorful, tasty, and sure to amaze you. We will be creating and serving fun “mocktails” to pair with his creations. This will be a reservation only dinner from 6-8PM. We are still working out some details so keep an eye out for the next email and Facebook updates for more information!
This past week we added some more local produce to our menu. In addition to Suzie’s Farm, we will also be using Seabreeze Organic, located in Carmel Valley. They are very small and distribute to CSA members, however the owner Stephanie is thrilled to hear about what we’re doing at Garden Kitchen, and since we have a smaller demand than most commercial kitchens, she has allowed us to pick straight from their weekly harvest. A few reminders and for our new subscribers. Our dinner hours have recently expanded and are now 5PM – 9PM. The menu changes daily, we post it every day to our website, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, so you can see what we’re serving that night. All of our food is available for takeout, and our “to go” fridge is always stocked and changing if you want something quick.
