We want to thank everyone for the support of our recently opened indoor lounge and expanded patio. While we still have a lot of work ahead of us, it’s great to have the local community behind us as well as hear all the kind words of support. Feedback so far has been encouraging, and response to the expanded wine menu and lounge small bite options has been positive. For those who haven’t yet visited, it’s still the same location but when you enter through the main entrance just head towards the back and turn right. Hours for the lounge and expanded patio are Thursday – Saturday, 5-9pm. Our new beer & wine license also allows to-go sales, so if there is a beer or wine you love, you can purchase to take home any time for a 15% discount!
This Thursday March 7th we’ll have one of our local Girl Scouts from Rolando & La Mesa Troop #5833 selling Girl Scout Cookies, and we’ll be offering Girl Scout cookie based desserts. If you join us in the lounge we’ll have beer & wine cookie pairings by the glass or flight! Think Samoas and Benchmark Brewing Stout or Tagalongs with Edwards Vineyard Censorship Port Style dessert wine! There are plenty of pairing options based on your taste, so be sure to stop in and help empower these ambitious young ladies and enjoy a fun snack and drink.
Beginning this Thursday March 7th and going through Saturday March 9th we’ll have a “Churrasco” dinner option which will feature Argentinian style grilled flank steak with multiple dipping sauces including chimichurri, whipped green garlic, black radish hot sauce and nasturtium salsa. It’s something we’ve been excited about for a while, so we hope you’ll stop by to enjoy it.
Additionally we’ll be featuring whole fried fish all weekend, Thurs March 7th – March 9th. This is one of our most requested dishes, so between our churrasco sauces and the fried fish you’ll have plenty of mouth watering options. We expect to be busy so reservations are highly recommended.
Looking towards St Patrick’s Day, we’ll have a special menu Wednesday March 13th through Saturday March 16th. Items will include our 7 day beet brined corned beef and cabbage, lamb stew, shepherd’s pie, bangers & mash, fish n chips, Irish tiramisu, mint chocolate cake as well as Benchmark beers on tap. Visit earlier in the week to avoid the crowds.
On Sunday March 24th we will be having a “Mujeres de Mexico” wine dinner featuring Ismene Venegas from El Pinar de 3 Mujeres in Valle de Guadalupe. Ismene will be joined by our own Chef Spencer and Chef Cecilia to create a 6 course comida de Mexico. Dinner starts at 5pm and the price is $125 which is all inclusive; tax, tip, food & wine pairings! Reservations required, call 619-431-5755, as of now we are already half sold out!
See you soon for your next Garden Kitchen meal, and make sure to save time for a glass of wine in our new Lounge and expanded patio!
