Happy New Year! The holidays have come and gone and 2021 is upon us. It’s been a while since our last newsletter and update, so time to catch you up and boy do I have some news! We’re back open after our 6th annual Winter Break and I, as well as the entire GK crew, had a nice relaxing break. As you know the restaurant business is incredibly demanding, so when we have this time it really gives us a chance to reflect. I started Garden Kitchen almost six years ago, and while I had plenty of restaurant industry experience, I had never cooked professionally (let alone call myself a chef!), never owned a restaurant, and was otherwise ill prepared to create Garden Kitchen. Labor Day Grill at Home Menu

It’s hard to believe it’s already September! With Labor Day coming up we are offering Grill At Home packages for your holiday barbecue. You can pre-order by calling the restaurant after 3pm daily, 619-431-5755, and pick up on Sunday 11am - 4pm. Full menu is here. Current rules allow restaurants to now offer limited indoor dining. Fortunately nothing will change for Garden Kitchen as we continue with outdoor dining only. Our indoor Wine Lounge remains closed. Our entire wine list is available any night with dinner on our patio, or for an additional 20% when purchased to go. Summer Updates: Wine, Dinner, Date Night Package

A lot has happened since our last newsletter. Restaurants re-opened for dine-in, only to then be ordered partially closed, with outdoor dining allowed only. Covid-19 has made this an interesting summer to say the least, however we are moving forward doing what we do best. With outdoor dining allowed, our patio is open for dinner, and of course we are still offering safe takeout for those who prefer to stay in, now with curbside pickup. Dinner service begins at 4pm Wednesday through Saturday with reservations preferred (online or by phone), for takeout call anytime after 3pm to place your order and set your pick up time. Our wine list is constantly growing, with over 50 bottles available! Wine can be purchased to go for 20% off, and if you want to beat the heat with a crisp white wine or rosé, we have plenty to choose from, as well as our house recipe Sangria! If you enjoy ...

Cinco de Mayo, Mother’s Day, 5 Year Anniversary!

We hope you are healthy and happy during this difficult time. As we now know, the San Diego County Stay at Home order has been extended. For Garden Kitchen that means we’ll keep with what we’ve been doing, take out service only and all orders placed over the phone, setting each customer with a scheduled pick up time to ensure minimal contact with other guests. We’ve got our process finely tuned and have been getting great feedback from people when picking up their food. As a reminder, our phones open at 3PM Tuesday - Thursday to place orders, on Friday and Saturday we’re starting an hour early, opening phones at 2PM. Please be patient if you get a busy signal or no answer, we’re doing our best to get to everybody who calls. Each call can take several minutes, so PLEASE have your order and payment ready.
