Anniversary Success, Father’s Day Brunch and a Red Door Special Event

Phew!! Our One Year Anniversary celebrations have come to an end! May was an amazing month and it’s hard to believe how much has happened. Thank you to all who came to help us celebrate, and thank you to everyone who has visited and enjoyed our food over the past year. It’s amazing how much our humble little restaurant has grown since we opened one short year ago, and we would not be where we are without all the amazing support.

One thing we learned during our May Celebrations is that people love our wine events! We carry fantastic wines from right here in San Diego County, and we love supporting what these small businesses do. You can be sure there will be more wine dinner events coming in the fall that will pair our food with local wines.

The next confirmed event is our Father’s Day Brunch on Sunday, June 19 from 9am to 1pm. We’ll be sure to have specialty entrees to keep Dad happy, and we expect this to fill up so make your reservation early. We’re also planning a Hawaiian themed night with Kalua pulled pork, Hawaiian sweet bread, tropical themed drinks and Hula dancers, so keep an eye out for that. Tacky flowered attire will be encouraged!

We are thrilled to share that Coral was invited by Trish Watlington, owner of The Red Door & The Wellington, to help at a farm to table dinner at the Red Door Family Garden, along with Executive Chef Miguel Valdez. The event is called “Farmers, Friends and Fishermen VII”, and will be Sunday, June 26th. A portion of proceeds will benefit Olivewood Gardens and Learning Center and The Berry Good Food Foundation. For more info and tickets visit the site here.

Lastly, we will be closed for a week at the end of summer, from August 30 – September 3, reopening after Labor Day. We are a very small operation and our team works incredibly hard every day to craft our food from scratch and provide the best service possible. This will be a week for us and our amazing employees to have some free time and enjoy the end of summer.

Let’s hope our second year of business treats us as good as our first! Thank you from the bottom of our bellies (and wine glasses)!
